Gillie's Reduction of Zygomaticomaxillary Complex (ZMC) Fracture

Abstract:  The author reports 15 cases of maxillary complex fractures which were treated in the Indian subcontinent.   Thirteen cases were stable after reduction with a Gillie's approach without fixation and obtained a good cosmetic result.   In two patients, the fracture was unstable are required an open reduction with stabilization. 

Editor's Note:  This video reports an incidence of post reduction stability without fixation of approximately 87% of patients treated in the Indian Subcontinent.   In the United States, it is standard treatment is to fix the vast majority of displaced ZMC fractures.
